Teaching
I hold a PhD and First-class Honours degree in music from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) at Edith Cowan University (ECU), a Bachelor of Science from The University of Western Australia (UWA), and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Additionally, I have experience teaching at several major schools around Perth.
WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Edith Cowan University, Perth)
Having taught at WAAPA as a casual staff member from 2012, I have been appointed to the faculty in 2023 in an ongoing role as a full-time academic lecturer in the Jazz and Contemporary Music departments. This involves teaching subjects such as:
One-to-one bass lessons
Small ensemble tuition
Honours research supervision
Research methods and study skills
Basics of Logic Pro
Aural/theory
Music business skills
Work health and safety (WHS)
In 2021, I was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Sessional Staff Excellence award for my contributions to the department. I have also tutored for UWA’s Conservatorium of Music (2021-2023).

Prior to COVID-19, these were only available in the Perth region. I have now expanded my setup to include both in-person lessons (conducted in the Dianella area) and lessons to anywhere else on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, and the like, so please do get in touch from wherever you are!
